How to deal with a puking toddler.

Sweatpea and I should be able to write this book pretty soon. Maddy started throwing up tonight, and in 2 hours, threw up about 7 times. We eventually had a system down, where sweatpea brought her to the bathtub and rinsed her off, while I put the sheets and her blankets in the wash, and changed them out for clean ones. This is the second time in two weeks she's caught a stomach virus :( pukin' kids are no fun.

Nice Sign! I think that says it all.

With my history of being a Tom Benson critic; I think it's time to give credit where credit is due. Tom, thanks for keeping the Saints here in New Orleans, and thanks for hiring Sean Payton.

I can't begin to say what this team has done for the spirit of the people here in New Orleans. Through "hell and high water" our city was on the difficult road to recovery, and making progress albeit sometimes at a big easy pace.

This from LSU; a pictorial report on the state of our barrier islands known as the Chandaleur island chain since hurricane Katrina. Gosier Island is completely gone. I just fished there last year. Curlew was washed away by Ivan. It's gone. Main Chandaleur is broken up badly with large sections completely gone. Breton Island is much smaller - probably next on the list if a major storm heads this way.

Rock Bottom

Tom Benson lunges at the WWLTV camera after the game, following his team's 4th straight loss in a row.

Fans and season ticket holders had to wait hours in line to see the game. Many speculate that Benson wanted to show a "lack of local support" in order to make his case for moving the team.

9/8/2005 Hurricane Katrina on Hartwell.tv

I went back to New Orleans yesterday. Unbelievable. We've been through a lot of hurricanes before, but nothing ever like this. Metairie looked like a battle zone. I had to wade through 2 feet of that nasty water for three blocks to get to my house in Rio Vista. Luckily, no water got in the house. We lost a car, and had some minor damage to the siding and roof. My mother's house had a foot of water in it and  she lost almost everything on the first floor due to the water and mold that quickly invaded. Here are some pictures of the sites I saw:

There are people breaking into stores stealing anything they can walk away with in our city and where's the National Guard? I think if we told Bush there were weapons of mass destruction in the city, he'd get help down here a little faster.

Chris & Jen's Surprise Wedding! We tied the knot on 5/22/2005 at the River 127 Restaurant in the Wyndham Hotel!

Our families were present for a brunch in celebration of the two of us graduating the previous day, and we showed up with a justice of the peace! All parties present were caught off guard to say the least!

It went off without a hitch, and we couldn't be happier. It was a perfect way to marry the perfect bride.

In other news, I went spearfishing today for my 30th birthday (with my beautiful wife, of course), and shot a sheepshead in Lake Pontchartrain. It was kind of small, but it was the first time I got to use my speargun. Pretty cool. Only had about 6' visibility though. The northshore was kind of rough so we stayed on the southshore.

Well.... I guess since the cat's out the bag and enough people know now, I can finally make the post that Sweet Pea's Pregnant! We're really excited about it and we plan on having 4 more in the next 5 years! Just kidding -  we had planned on getting married in the next year or so, but I think we'll tie the knot a bit sooner now. For now we call the baby Peanuckle. If it's a boy, we're going to name him Chandler Lawrence Hartwell (using my middle name [chandler] an Sweet Pea's dad's middle name [lawrence]); and if it's a girl we're going to name her Lucinda Alexa (after the search engine) Hartwell.

Microsoft Search Launches
No longer just a beta version, Microsoft started using their own search results over the past few days, replacing Yahoo! serp's that they've been using for some time now.

What does this mean for us SEO's? One more thing to worry about. If Microsoft starts serving poor results (as they have in some areas), then well optimized sites will lose traffic. I'm ok with that when authority sites are the ones at the top. The problem with some of the Microsoft serp's is that some of the top sites resemble link farms.

I apologize for the lack of posts lately; I went to Antigua with Sweet Pea (the love of my life) for a week, which was absolutely beautiful. We visited my cousin Alison who was a most gracious host, and we had an unforgettable little break when we desperately needed one. Then I came down with this sinus infection that has just kicked my you-know-what the past few days and made me absolutely useless. We flew to Dallas (while in the midst of my illness) to visit sweet pea's family for christmas, and that's where we presently reside. I am slowly getting better, and I have a TON of work to do - not to mention the posts I need to catch up on OMFG the Saints kicked *** last week, and man I hope they show up for the Falcons this week. Yahoo and Google have been up to some major stuff I gotta post on too... more to come...

Saints 21, Falcons 24

Sadly much of the same inconsistency we've been seeing all year. The most painful part was in the end when the saints had about 1:30 to get down field and score. The play calling was horrible. Brooks threw a few short passes. They never made it out the starting gate.

Tenth game in a row the Saints went scoreless in the first quarter. What should we attribute this to? Haslett's had four years with this team and they're worse off now than when Ditka turned them over to him. I mean, I hate to say that; because Haslett's such a nice guy. Maybe that's why we've kept him around so long?

Hopelessness sets in...

What's going on with Yahoo! SERP's? My site's been steadily moving up to #1 for extremely hard to target keywords and yesterday it drops down to #8 for the main one!

To top it off, Microsoft debuts the beta version of their new engine this week and the SERP's are awful. http://beta.search.msn.com/ They've got brand new sites with no backlinks ranking higher than national organizations that have been around for years in the Counseling profession.

I've been through this so many times before ... what if it all works out?
